Lent Day 23: Today I battle for the Seekers.

“Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him. And at that moment He disappeared! They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as He talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24: 31-32
Father God, thank you for your Word that speaks to us and burns within us. I know that there are people you are calling closer to you now, burning their hearts within them as they read your Word. I want to encourage and pray for them this morning.
Lord, I ask you to pour out your Spirit upon those seeking you. Your Word is a treasure that takes invested time to form your children. Give them the conviction to make time to read the Bible. When they read and pray, may your Word come alive within their hearts and minds. May it come back to them throughout the day, a fire that keeps burning.
Like King Solomon, I ask you to fill us with an understanding heart of the truth in your Word and how to live wisely. Protect us from busyness, apathy, and lies we may have been told about the Bible. All of your children need to hear you speaking to them personally through your Word. Teach us, Lord!
Holy Spirit, open our eyes. Help us to feel and believe in the communion with you when your Word is meditated on. Fresh ears Lord, may we hear scripture with a freshness, a newness. Stir within us, Lord. Help us to hear your call – that our lives may bring your Word and light to others. What a privilege, Lord, to be called your children and to receive this call. Show us the way. I love you, and I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
