I’m very proud of these scripture journals I put together to encourage my kids to stay in God’s Living Word throughout the summer months. I didn’t include a lot of my own reflections or thoughts because over time we each need to find our own voice to dialogue with God. Hopefully the structure of the journals will lead one to do that. I’ve really enjoyed working through each of them myself!

Summer Scripture Journal: 11 Weeks of Seeking God through Scripture

Summer Scripture Journal, Vol. II: 9 Weeks of Praying with the Holy Spirit through Scripture

Journaling with scripture: Lately I have been using the STARS method. It creates space for God to speak into my life, and it helps me remember how He’s been moving or teaching me.
S- Scripture; T- Truth; A- Act; R- Respond in prayer; S- Select a word
Each morning, I start by acknowledging my feelings or what’s happening in my life and telling Jesus. Then, I invite the Holy Spirit to come and speak to me. Then, I typically read 1 or 2 chapters from the Bible, then write out the letter and answer the question next to it.
- S – What verse does God seem to be illuminating?
- T – What is true of God because of this? What is true of me? What is reality?
- A – How is my life different because of this? God, what do You want me to know?
- R – Write out a prayer conversation to/with God.
- S – God, what words or theme do you want me to carry today?

Books I’d Recommend to a Friend (in no particular order):
- Walking with Purpose Bible Studies – grab a friend, do the study and meet to discuss. I’ve done most of them with friends and they’ve had an incredible influence deepening my relationship with God and with others.
