Lent Day 39 – Good Friday: Today I battle for trust in God’s will.
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16: 33

Jesus, I write this prayer in gratitude. I am struggling to form words as I contemplate your suffering and death.
I love you, my God, who created this beautiful world and all the people in it.
I love you, my God, who desires to dwell closely with us, His children.
I love you, my God, whose love strengthens me and reminds me I am seen and known.
I love you, my God, who calls me His own.
I love you, my God, who restores my dignity with a ring, a robe, and sandals on my feet.
I love you, my God, who heals me from my anxiety and suffering.
I love you, my God who forgives all my sins.
I love you, my Jesus, who carried Your cross so humbly, and gives me courage to carry my own.
I love you, my Jesus, who was rejected, who died on the cross and drank the cup of wrath that we deserved for our sins.
I love you, my God, who made a way for us to have a personal relationship with you and for your Spirit to dwell in us.
What a dramatic love story we are a part of! I pray that everyone on earth may see themselves as part of your story, Lord, and believe in your love for them. May we trust in you and your will for our lives.
Holy Spirit, may dry bones come to life! Breathe your breath of life into our lungs! May our lives bring glory to God. Thank you Jesus, I pray in your name, Amen.
