Lent days 34 – 36: I battle to abide with Jesus

Jesus, you are my friend, the best of friends I can have in this life. I feel a bit off with these prayers since I have been out of town, but I recognize that Lent is at its height this week, as these days are set apart in remembrance and worship of you.
My best of intentions, Jesus, is to set these days apart as holy. The church provides many opportunities to participate in your journey to the cross and the resurrection 2000 years ago, and I am so grateful.
I always ask for you to abide with me Jesus, and this week I ask for you to help me abide with you. Engage my imagination and my heart into your experience of these events. May it be like I’m right there with you. May I abide with you, with my heart of gratitude and love.
Speak to me Jesus, I want to hear your voice, your breathing, your heartbeat, each step you take.
Come Holy Spirit, wash away my distractions, give me clarity of a plan for this week, and bring me into Jesus’ passion, the love beyond comprehension. May I abide with Jesus. Set my feet and my mind and heart in alignment with you this week. I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
