Lent Day 32: I battle for the Spirit to move here
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2: 10
Jesus, you are the best part of me. You are creating me into a masterpiece through all the ups and downs of life. I am united with you, one with you. A member of your family. I am nothing without you. Thank you for being with me, I love you.
Jesus, today I am wondering how many people you passed by on the roads whom you could have helped, but they did not call out to you. They did not recognize the gift of your presence right in front of them.
Jesus, I believe in your love for the people in my community. We cannot be your masterpiece if we don’t invite you in. How many of us need to ask, how many times do we need to ask, for you to not pass us by?
I’ve heard stories and seen videos of college students all over our country wanting the love and freedom you offer, confessing sin and being baptized in your name. It’s so encouraging! I am so grateful, Lord, as I see your movement in the hearts of young people.
Us too! Do not pass us by! I ask on behalf of those who don’t know you, who don’t know what they’re missing in life apart from you. May we all experience the love of Christ, the depth, the width, the height and length of your love! I don’t know how you’re going to do it, but I believe you want to and I believe you can, so I ask.
Come Holy Spirit, we want you here, you are welcome here. Create your people anew in Christ Jesus, into a glorious masterpiece. Awaken us, set our hearts ablaze in your love. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
