Lent Day 30, almost there: Today I battle for receptivity

Jesus, sometimes I read these prayers of St. Paul and I just have no idea of how the answers to these prayers will manifest themselves in your people. I pray them because they are God’s Word and I pray them because I trust God and I want what you want, but in reality, what would it look like if all God’s people had the riches of what St. Paul is asking for?
Your Kingdom of heaven on earth? People alive and animated by Your love? Your Spirit moving to restore and to heal? Redemption and new life? Yes, please!
Jesus, you are so generous and are able to do more than we even ask! I’m going to pray the words of St. Paul from the letter to the Ephesians today for the children of God and I ask in your mighty power that we would be receptive of all you want to do in our lives. Here we go:
I thank you God for your people, your children.
I pray for them constantly, asking you God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give us spiritual wisdom and insight so that we might grow in our knowledge of you.
I pray that our hearts will be flooded with light so that we can understand the confident hope You have given to those You called – Your holy people who are Your rich and glorious inheritance.
I also pray that we will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
Jesus, may we slow down and receive. May we slow down and receive.
Jesus, I trust in you. You will give us what we need. Build your Kingdom here. May we bring You glory through the way we live and love. Amen.
