Lent Day 28: Today I battle for God’s light to spread.

Jesus, my vision is so limited. I am so limited to my years on earth’s timetable, my experiences, my community, my education, my talents, my health. Of course I need you to navigate this life.
Jesus, this morning I want to praise you as I wonder about Your kingdom. You are Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. You are the Lord God, the Almighty, who was, who is, and who is to come.
In Revelation 21: 23-24 we read about the future kingdom, where “The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God illuminates it, and its lamp is the Lamb. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.”
Lord, you have seen all that was, all that is, and all that is to come. My heart is drawn to greater reliance on you and trust in you. It’s powerful to know that I’m made in your image. It’s comforting to know that I am your daughter.
Today I pray that your Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. Oh Lord, we ask for your glory to illuminate the earth. Please move, and do not pass us by. May your truth and light penetrate and envelop my family, my home, our workplaces, our churches, our schools, our neighborhoods and cities. May we be lightbearers in this place you have us in today. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
