Lent Day 27: Today I battle for willingness
Come Holy Spirit, give me ears to hear what you are telling me.
“Let anyone who hears, say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come. Let the one who desires take the water of life freely.” Revelation 22: 17
“Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”” John 4:10
Jesus, these words stir my heart…your consistent invitation to come to you is so vulnerable. Your arms are open wide. You leave yourself vulnerable to our response.
I don’t know what more you could do or could’ve done. You made a way for us to come to you now and for eternity. Thank you!
Jesus, today I want to pray for willingness.
May I be willing to come to you, to make time for you, to trust in you.
May all who are thirsty hear you say ‘come’ and be willing find a way to come drink of your life giving water.
May I live willing to invite, to encourage, to share you and share love with everyone I encounter. May I be willing to surrender my time, my comfort, or my image for you, Jesus. May your people be known for generosity and kindness. You are worthy of all the glory and praise, and I pray in your name, Jesus, Amen.
