Closeness

Lent Day 24: Today I battle for desire for intimacy with God.

Father God, You made a way to dwell with us now and forever. You will never abandon your children. You don’t turn your back on us or reject us.

We are the ones who leave you. We are the ones distracted or busy or angry or lost. We are the ones who forget all you’ve done for us or who don’t understand or who don’t care.

But you care, Lord. Every moment of our lives, you are there and you care. Jesus, you told your followers, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” I hear you say that to me often. “Come away with me and I will give you rest.” Consistent connection with you Jesus has given me so much peace and joy.

Lord, I can’t make anyone want to pray. Holy Spirit, I ask you to stir that desire within your people – may we want to seek Jesus and spend time with Him and worship Him. Awaken desire for intimacy with you, Jesus. May we be a people who long to be with you, Jesus. You are so beautiful, and I adore you. I pray in your precious name, Amen.
