Lent Day 12: Today I battle for a heart of worship

“I am the Lord; there is no other God.” – Is 45:5
Father God, I love how your children worship you outwardly in different ways, and that worship comes from an overflow of love. Love for You manifests itself in singing, dancing, sacrificing, raising hands to heaven, falling to our knees, smiles, tears…it’s so beautiful to behold.
Sometimes listening to the right worship song will stir love in my heart for you God. How does music do that? Thank you for the gift of Christian musicians and the songs you’ve inspired through them that help us raise our eyes to Jesus.
“I am the Lord, and there is no other. I create the light and make the darkness. I send good times and bad times. I, the Lord, am the one who does these things.” – Is. 45:6-7
Today I want to pray for those who don’t desire to worship you, God and for those who go through the motions of worship without the heart connection to you.
Come Holy Spirit, fill us with love and joy for you. May love spark and grow into flames within us. A heart on fire with love. A heart of joy and delight in You.
“This is what the Lord says – the Holy One of Israel and your Creator: “Do you question what I do for my children? Do you give me orders about the work of my hands? I am the one who made the earth and created people to live on it. With my hands I stretched out the heavens. All the stars are at my command.” – Is. 45:11-12
Lord, please clear away distractions, help us recognize and turn away from idolatry. Give us wonder and curiosity about you. Yes God, awaken wonder and awe. Please awaken curiosity. Awaken worship of You alone.
“God is with you, and He is the only God. There is no other.” – Is. 45:21
Lord, heal our misconceptions about You. Heal our partial understanding. Heal our broken sight. Forgive us for seeking fulfillment in other means than You. May we become worshipers of You and You alone.
“Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other.” – Is. 45:22
Teach us to worship You with our whole heart. It is so good to worship You, we were made to worship You in this life. Enlighten us, Lord. I love you and pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
