Fresh Start

Lent Day 8: Today I battle for people who need a fresh start

In Ezekiel 36: 24-27, the Lord says, “For I will gather you up from all the nations and bring you home again to your land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.”

Father God, I read this and think, “He loves me and He wants me home with Him.”

Father God, You love me and You want me home with you.

Father God, you love all people and want them home with you.

You restore our dignity. You restore our hope. You are so generous, with the most pure of intentions. I am undeserving of your pursuit of my soul.

Father God, you know who needs a fresh start, and today I battle in prayer for them. May they see you from a new perspective. Please break-through the walls that prevent them from seeing the truth about who you are, and who they are to you. Please give them courage to repent and return to you and your loving embrace. You don’t want them to think they need to do this life on their own. Please fill them with your Spirit. Help them take that step toward you for a fresh start.

Father God, You make all things new. Thank you for your welcoming, loving embrace. Thank you for your strength to hold us up when life is hard. I love you. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
