Lent Day 7: Today I battle for healing of sight

Father God, I never would have understood this healing until I experienced it myself. I grew up only seeing you one way – as a judge watching over me and seeing if I’m following all the rules.
Over time I stopped caring as much and distanced myself from you, because the rules were too much of a burden. My mind became chaotic and my heart so selfish.
Then my friend invited me to read the Bible closer, and really let you tell me who you are. It didn’t happen instantly, but my eyes were healed. I not only saw you in a new light, but I also saw my life in a new light – with new colors, new joy! I am so grateful, Father, that you healed my sight.
So today, I sense you asking me to pray for those who are spiritually blind, who need healing to their eyes. Only you know who needs healing, Lord, and I fight for them in prayer today.
I think of the physically blind that Jesus healed, like in John 9:11, “[the man born blind] told them, “The man they call Jesus made mud and spread it over my eyes and told me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash yourself.’ So I went and washed, and now I can see!” “
Jesus, please come into the lives of those who need their sight restored. Heal their eyes. Enlighten their hearts. I imagine you rubbing ointment on eyes, giving vision to see how you see. Yes, please, heal their vision, Lord. May the truth of who you are become clear. You did it for me, you can do it again.
You are the God who heals. The God who knows our stories and why our vision became distorted. You are the God who understands us and loves us and wants us to live a vibrant, full life with you. Give us eyes to see clearly, Lord. Heal as only you can. I love you, I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
