Lent Day 2: Today I battle for revival.

Lord, maybe revival will be the underlying theme of all of these posts? Spending my Lent battling in prayer for revival – for myself and your people to be strengthened in fresh closeness to you, alive in your Spirit, for your redemptive purposes…we will see!
Joel 2: 28-29 “I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. In those days I will pour out my Spirit, even on servants – men and women alike.”
Father God, you have no limitations. You remind us what you are capable of, and I believe sometimes you wait for us to ask you to move. You allow us to participate in your great work on earth. Thank you!
Because I believe you speak through your Word, I ask for a fresh outpouring of your Spirit upon all people. May your children prophesy, and dream dreams, and see visions.
My realm of influence is so small, but I trust you want me to pray for revival in my own heart and the hearts of my family, for the people on the soccer fields, on the basketball courts, in my church and city, at our school, in the grocery store…so here I come before your throne and ask Father God, send us your Spirit. I repent of my sin, of turning away from you, of seeking empty alternatives to you. Have your way with us Lord. We want your Kingdom here.
If this is how I spend my short time here on earth, what a fulfilling purpose and mission Lord. Thank you! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
