These prayers are seriously powerful. The caveat is that I credit Priscilla Shirer for partially writing them because they are the fruit of participating in her bible study “The Armor of God” last winter. There are probably phrases taken directly from the book that I just didn’t cite because I originally wrote them to be used privately.
The Bible study is wonderful and I couldn’t recommend it more if you’d like to dive deeper to learn about the armor God gives us to “stand firm against all strategies of the devil” (Eph 6:11). We can be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power!
I’m going to post the 6 prayers I wrote as part of the study, one a day. I hope you can use them in your own battles! Praise God for giving us His armor!
Lord God, you are my mighty warrior, defending and fighting for me. Thank you! I am sorry I don’t always live on guard or with intention. You have more for me than I even know and I want to believe I have access in the heavenly places (Eph 2:6). Teach me. Open my eyes Lord, and help me to understand. Awaken us, Lord. Help us discern what is of you and what is not. May we be wise in how we handle the attacks of the enemy, and stand firm in the strength of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In His name I do not fear. Yes Lord, I believe you are the victorious King sitting on your throne, battling the enemy with us and for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
