I’m Fighting for You

As I look at the budding trees, I wonder how that life within the trees was dormant all winter, and suddenly in the spring, that life bursts forth. It awakens. There have been times in my life when the Holy Spirit within me felt dormant. I was completely unaware of Him, but now that I ask Him to come alive within me, my life has changed in the best of ways.

In March I was at a Christian conference where the leader proclaimed, “We are here fighting for you. We are all here fighting for you.” And with every speaker, every song, every prayer, we could feel it. It was humbling and inspiring to every one of us there. Don’t we all need community like this?

This is what we are to do as Christ’s followers, we live in community and we fight for one another. We look out, not always in. We listen. We allow the Holy Spirit to come alive within us and to love through us. We speak the truth about who God is. We reconcile and seek peace.

This is what I want my children to realize…what I am fighting for them to realize…not only are they deeply loved, but they also have God’s power, His Spirit within them. May they not live their lives with Him dormant! With God’s mighty power at work within us, we will “accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or imagine,” for His glory. I believe it for my family, friends, and for you! and I will continue to fight for others to seek this incredible, abundant life with God.

Father God, thank you that you are always for us, and you are the one truly fighting for us. Thank you for friends that build up and encourage. Holy Spirit, thank you for the new life you have sprung within me. Give me the fortitude I need to continue fighting for myself and others. As I undergo sacrifice and obstacles, may I surrender the battles to you and find communion with Jesus Christ crucified. Give me the strength and encouragement to never give up and to fulfill God’s plan for my life. I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
