Come Holy Spirit, deepen my understanding of what it means to belong to the Creator and God of the Universe.
Belonging. Marked forever as your child by my baptism.
To always be welcomed warmly by you.
To be wanted and loved by you.
I don’t actually belong to my work, or to others’ opinions of me, or to my hobbies. Those will come and go.
I belong to God. Only You formed me and brought me into this world.
You desire communion with me, friendship with me, intimacy with me.
In your kindness, you forgive me of my offenses against you.
You will call me home when this life is done.
Deepen my understanding of what it means to belong to you.
Join your spirit with mine and affirm my truest identity.
May I believe this truth in all circumstances. I ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
