Fill Us With Truth

Jesus, I was watching Emma last night searching for lightning bugs, and thinking about how beautiful, pure and innocent her soul is. She is full of life and joy, so precious in her parents’ eyes. You created her with dignity, and potential to do great things. I will always see this in her and in all my children – what a powerful gift love is.

Sometimes fear creeps in of how our culture or sin or my mistakes are going to influence how my children see themselves or see you. I surrender these fears to you, Jesus. You do not give me a spirit of fear. I trust you are leading and guiding us as we raise our children and you are building a solid foundation of truth and love within them. I can be confident that you who began a good work in them will bring it to completion (Phil 1:6).

Jesus, I ask for your Holy Spirit to come fill my children with truth. Come, speak what is true in their ears, in their minds, in their dreams. May they come to fully understand their dignity, beauty, and worth through your eyes. Could they define themselves by how you see them, Jesus? I pray they may know the heart of our Father and have confidence in His merciful, unfailing love. May they come to you when they mess up, or when life is confusing, and would they allow you to restore to them what gets lost. Lord, fill them with truth. I love you Jesus, thank you for being our teacher and friend. Amen.
