Come Holy Spirit

Oh Holy Spirit, who are you?

Mysterious like the wind…blowing, convicting, moving, stirring, activating, awakening.

As I invite you throughout my day, “Come Holy Spirit”, I am becoming more familiar with you. We are becoming friends.

When I watch a fire burning, it is making more sense to understand how you are the ignition of a fire within my heart. Without your spark, I’m just a pile of wood, unaware, asleep. You are the life, the energy, the goodness, the love that fills me.

One morning I was so weary, and prayed, “Come Holy Spirit, stir the hearts of your faithful. Come Holy Spirit. Fill us with passion and zeal. Restore to us the joy of our salvation. Animate our passion for you. Come Holy Spirit, may we rise up as your faithful army of love, praising your name. May we, followers of Jesus, unify for the sake of your name.” You came at that moment. I had a physical response to you, as the weariness melted away and I was awake and ready to read my Bible and pray, and start my day with excitement. It was incredible. You are incredible.

Come Holy Spirit, be the wind inside my sails. Please deepen our relationship, reveal to me who you are. Let’s move together, in rhythm, in sync. I surrender my will, my agendas to you, lead me today. I love you, and I love living this life with you. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

2 Timothy 1:6-7 “For this reason, I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control.”
