I wonder how did the criticism or judging in my mind became such a natural inclination?
How did that happen that my thought patterns became ones that criticize so quickly?
Talk about a pathway to division. Unrest in relationships. Inflated ego. Closing doors. Squashing possibilities. So sneaky!
Seems like a trick to hold me back from becoming who I am created to be….to stifle ‘what could be’ in my relationships.
It doesn’t have to be this way. I know this because of a few truths I stand on firmly:
- Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. John 14:6
- He sends His Spirit to transform us by the renewal of our minds. Romans 12:2
- God will accomplish far more than all we ask or imagine by the power at work within us. Ephesians 3:20
How could I bless others instead of judging them? I’m going to ask God, in His love, to help me, to transform me:
Jesus, you have never asked me to judge others, only to love others. Free me from a critical spirit. Fill me with your own Spirit and change my thought patterns to be ones of love, ones that bring life. Expand my heart to be humble, tender, and empathetic. May I be a tender place where people can be welcomed and be lead to your loving arms. Only you can do this Jesus, thank you, I love you, Amen.
“Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2
