Skiing

Skiing is a little outside of my comfort zone, but I’ll go for a few hours each trip to enjoy time with my family. While we were skiing today, I asked God who He wanted to be for me today. I heard, “Fun”. Yes God, you are fun. This took some of the tension away and it was fun thinking about how God formed these mountains, how He made the sun shine on us, the powdery snow fall last night, these sticks that attach to my feet to glide on snow, and the joy of my kids hollering on our adventure through the trails.

I asked my 10 year old son to ask God too. He looked a bit skeptical, then was quiet and then told me he immediately heard the word, “Awesome” when he asked. I kept thinking as we looked over the splendor of the mountains that ‘Yes God, you are awesome. You move us to wonder and awe of you and your creation. There is no one like you.’

Father God, you are greater than we can imagine. We want to feel connected with you in very real ways, at all times. Teach us. Teach us, Lord. Give us eyes to see your presence. Give us hearts to feel your love. We are your children – help us to see Lord. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
