I asked the Holy Spirit for a word for 2021 that could be used as a pathway to encounter God in a new, intimate way. I hoped for a word that would continue to strengthen my relationship with Him as part of His family.
As I read this verse one morning, “Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you!” (Psalm 63:4), my heart was moved by the word unfailing.
Unfailing means reliable, constant, without error or fault, boundless, endless.
God’s love is unfailing.
This made me wonder…I can know this in my head that God’s love is unfailing, now how can I experience this in my heart?
That’s what I think this year is going to be about, and hopefully I can document this journey in a very real and understandable way.
Father God, thank you for giving me the word unfailing, so I may be attentive to you and how you want to love me this year. It sounds hopeful – so that whatever may happen, I can trust in your unfailing love. Open my eyes and heart, help me to be aware of your presence and choose to abide in you. Deepen my love for you each day. Amen.
