Gratitude in 2020 – #5

Thank you God that you are worthy of our trust. You are always in control, and I can trust in you. This year more than ever, I chose to trust you God. I chose to trust you…

when my kids had to stay home from school in March…

when Matt decided in March that we should go through with buying a new house…

when riots were breaking out in downtown Omaha…

when I found out in early August my dad had COVID and most likely my mom…

when I found out I had COVID, felt awful, and Matt didn’t have it…

and so did 4 of my siblings and their kids…

and we quarantined for 24 days (with spotty internet/tv!)…

when my friend found out her husband had a brain tumor, and then so did a boy from school…

when my friend wanted to start an Advent group on Facebook and invite all the moms at our school to read the same book “Come, Let Us Adore Him” by Paul David Tripp (150 moms joined!).

Throughout this year, 2020, I chose to trust in you God, and you showed yourself to be faithful, gentle, present, and my peace. My peace.

I bought a black shirt this summer that says in bright white letters, “Reminder: God is in control.” Seemed fitting for this year.

Nothing surprises Him. He is our victorious king. He is a rock and a stronghold in times of trouble. “We know that all things work for good for those who love God, – who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28). He is worthy of my trust.
