Thank you God for technology during this year. It allowed me to see family when my heart and my kids really needed it. We started Grammy time, where the kids had one-on-one 30 minutes of FaceTime with their Grammy once a week. This doesn’t happen often when five kids are vying for her attention. They drew pictures with her, listened to stories, told jokes, played the piano, tried to teach her to solve a Rubik’s cube – it was beautiful to see the creative ways they interacted. God is so kind and generous to give my kids such loving grandparents.
Facebook allowed me to connect with our church and attend daily mass or pray the rosary with others when I felt drawn to. What an amazing gift to anchor my soul to God and feel connected to our church and school community. God is so faithful, to remind us He’s here with us when things feel shaky.
Zoom allowed my family to celebrate my parent’s birthdays and Easter together, which was hilarious trying to talk to 7 other households at the same time – maybe 32 of us? Zoom also allows me to pray with friends who go to a different church once a week (we started in April and it still continues!), and I joined a church’s prayer group in Washington DC that continues to meet 3 days a week – both groups of Christians I would not normally have prayed with pre-covid. God is incredible!
