Thank you God for Christian music, for the talent and beauty of the artists, and for the new songs I found this year that really helped anchor my soul to you, God. Some of my favorites:
Belovedness by Sarah Kroger. Father God, this song deepened my understanding of how you see me. I want to own my belovedness.
Old Church Choir by Zach Williams. Father God, there were some tough days, especially when we were schooling at home. This song filled my soul with praise and joy for you.
No One Ever Cared for Me Like Jesus by Steffany Gretzinger. Father God, this song felt like home to me this year. It reminded me Jesus is the only one who can fully satisfy my desires for love. He’s always been with me and will always care for me.
Way Maker by Leeland. Father God, recognizing and calling out who you are was such a powerful prayer this year. I loved how this song called you Way Maker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper, Light in the Darkness. Thank you for leading my heart to you.
Salt and Light by Lauren Daigle. Father God, I just want to pray the lyrics of this song everyday, “Let my eyes see your kingdom shine all around. Let my heart overflow with passion for your name. Let my life be a song revealing who you are.”
On a side note, thank you God that we started listening to Heart Songs again (music written by my mother-in-law for her church). There’s a peace and joy that comes over me and my kids when we listen to it. Music is such an incredible gift, and to see the journey of my faith in line with Mom’s music is such a unique facet that I could have never come up with, such a kind gift from God.
